Our Mission: To Provide the Highest Standard of Pre-hospital Care for the Citizens of Wilkes County.
Established in 1971, Wilkes County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a county government owned and operated medical service located in the beautiful rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Covering more than 756 square miles with a population of approximately 70,000 people, Wilkes County is the third largest county in the state. Employing 39 full time and 20 part time field paramedics, Wilkes County Emergency Medical Services mans two full-time Bases providing around the clock advanced life support care for the citizens of Wilkes County. Wilkes EMS responds to over 10,000 calls per year. We use (4) 24 hour ambulances, (1) 12 hour ambulance and (1) quick response vehicle per day. We strive to provide the highest and most advanced level of care to the citizens of Wilkes County.
Wilkes County EMS is now able to offer detailed call statistics to the public. Call statistics will
be posted on a quartely and yearly basis for the public to view.
